Together, you will determine the best approach, which may include medication management, therapy, lifestyle changes, or a combination of these factors.

The first step is to request a consultation with us. Next, you will be asked to input demographic information and complete a brief screening questionnaire.

Upon review of your screening questionnaire and determining if we are a good fit for telehealth services, we will be in touch with you as soon as possible.

Psychiatric Evaluation

A comprehensive psychiatric evaluation for adults includes obtaining a detailed history of presenting problem(s), past psychiatric and medical history, gathering information about various psychosocial factors, support network, and strengths. 

Evaluation Might Also Include:

  • Review and completion of rating scales 

  • Laboratory testing 

  • Obtaining collateral information from previous records or other members of your healthcare team, including therapist.

Dr. Ancer will then develop a formulation/assessment and provide guidance about treatment recommendations which might include medication, psychotherapy, or a combination of both. She will work to collaborate with you and possibly other providers, where necessary, to develop goals for treatment and provide evidence-based treatment recommendations. 

Medication Management and Therapy

Medication management appointments involve a follow up to assess your response to medication and may include brief therapy interventions, such as elements of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) etc.

  • Dose titration

  • Monitoring any prescribed medication side effects

  • Review of Prescription Monitoring Program for all controlled substances

  • Review of symptoms

  • Assessing progress toward treatment goals

  • Review and completion of rating scales 

With your permission, Dr. Ancer Leal might also collaborate with other providers, such as your psychotherapist for continuity of care.

However, continuing these medications is often times needed despite the weight gain. At Lucent Psych we offer a weight management program designed to help patients achieve sustainable weight loss while continuing their necessary mental health treatments.

FAQ

What are self-pay rates for services?

We charge $200 for the Initial Psychiatric Evaluations and $150 for follow-up appointments.

I don’t live in Texas or Washington. Can I book an appointment?

No, at this time we only provider services to patients residing in Texas or Washington state.
